Metamodelling for Agent-Based Modelling: An Application for Posted Pricing Institutions
نویسندگان
چکیده
Agent-Based Modelling is gaining wider acceptance as a paradigm for social research. However, it still presents limitations in the management of the process to generate the simulations from the initial conceptual models. This makes it difficult to reuse the knowledge from available models and to adapt it to different hypotheses. This paper proposes the use of metamodels in order to define explicitly the core concepts of a problem domain and to differentiate the aspects involved in the process. A case study for posted pricing institutions shows how to define the related metamodel and use it to address alternative situations in these auctions. The case study drives the discussion on the advantages and limitations that metamodelling can bring to social simulation. Agent-based modelling and sensitivity analysis by experimental design and metamodelling: an application to modelling regional structural change
This paper presents the application of the sensitivity analysis techniques Design of Experiments (DOE) and metamodelling to the agent-based model AgriPoliS, which is a spatial and dynamic simulation model of regional structural change. DOE and metamodelling provide a more systematic analysis of results of complex simulation models. When summarising the results, it becomes clear that interest ra...

متن کاملAgent-Based Modeling of Day-Ahead Real Time Pricing in a Pool-Based Electricity Market
In this paper, an agent-based structure of the electricity retail market is presented based on which day-ahead (DA) energy procurement for customers is modeled. Here, we focus on operation of only one Retail Energy Provider (REP) agent who purchases energy from DA pool-based wholesale market and offers DA real time tariffs to a group of its customers. As a model of customer response to the offe...
